Imagine a fantasy land where nature is a benevolent queen. Where the woods
are lovely, dark, green and deep. Where the sky is an azure blue. Where hill
streams bubble like a young Adivasi's laughter. A place where you can hear the
sound of silence and actually taste the elegance of nature.

Yes, Jharkhand is your short-cut to dream land. A place of ecstasy, unspoiled
by man or time. Just being there is good for the body, and soul.

    Jharkhand - The Incredible Legacy

Anthropologists would make us believe that Chotanagpur region of Jharkhand
must have witnessed the Transformation of Homo Erectus to Homo Sapiens.
Their claim is based on the finding of hand axes and blades that are littered
here in the region of Pathalgarwa. The discovery of Harappan pottery in
Hazaribagh further strengthens the claim to antiquity. Senior archaeologists are
staking their professional reputation on the finding of the cave painting in the
    Isko village.

The enormous wealth of past times, civilized existence, human societies and
their cultural patterns, survive in caves, monuments, rock-art in shelters
(petrographs) - and it is open for the world to explore.

Nearly 28% of the population of Jharkhand consists of very old tribal
communities. And their culture and lifestyles and one-ness with the land would
surprise even the most knowledgeable researcher.

The Santhals are the predominant tribe with highly developed culture and
language (with their own Alchiki script). The Asurs and Lohars are famous for
their mastery of the lost art of iron smelting and black smithy. Several tribes like
the Gonds, Khonds and Koram are deemed of Dravidian origin and possibly
migrate here in the remote past. Other important communications include the
Ho and the Oraon and of course the ancient Mundas, personified by that
legendary reformer Birsa Munda, a God-like figure in Jharkhand even today.
In Jharkhand wonders don't lie in museums....
...they live and breathe around you!
