Established in November 1971, Gossner College a minority college, affiliated to Ranchi University, is managed by GEL Church of Chotanagpur and Assam. The Prime objective is to give the youngTribal Christian students of Jharkhand the opportunity to arm themselves with knowledge that higher education tion can provide in a Christian atmosphere. The other objective is to provide the vista of university education to the deserving students coming from socially, economically backward and underprivileged communities of this region particularly, the Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes and other Backward communities. Preference is given to students from these communities. however, since the college is situated in the heart of Ranchi and Jharkhand, students of other communities and regions may also apply.Besides academic excellence the college is also known for excellence in Games and Sports. The college has to its credit students who haver epresented at the District/State/Zonal/National andnternational levels in various events, notable amongst them are Sumrai Tete (Captain) Women'sTeam India Hockey, Bimal Lakra, Team India Hockey and Mahender Singh Dhoni, Team India-Cricket. Other than conventional courses Gossner College,with the approval of the UGC/HRD and Ranchi University also offers Vocational Courses such as : B.Sc. Computer (lions.)
Before filling up the Application form please read theProspectus carefully.(A) Duly filled Application form for admission to Arts/ Science/ Commerce must reach the college office by the prescribed date. Please do take the duly signed receipt and retain it in your own interest. (B) Affix a recent photograph in the appropriate place provided. (C) Separate forms will have to be filled, in case a candidate wishes to apply for more than One Faculty/ Course. (D) Photocopies of certificates to be submitted with the form : (a) Mark sheet (b) Caste Certificate (For SC/ST/BC-I/ BC- 11 applications) (c) Residential 'Certificate.(E) All original certificates along with a photograph to be submitted at time of admission for Verification.(F) Selected candidates must take admission within the prescribed dates mentioned in the selection List, failing which their selecton will be treated as cancelled. Hostel Hostel facilities offered by the college is limited,therefore students not living with their Parents/Natural guardians are advised to make their ownarrangement. |
